Old Ral Partha Ogre 2

Here's another old Ral partha ogre miniature. I think this was sculpted by Bob Olley who seems to have a large fan base, particularly in Britain.

I used basic colors on this guy. Lots of Browns and  rusted metal, dark gray and black. I just figure an ogre is probably not going to look too flashy.

Welcome to the team Mr. Krondor

Reaper Bones Scorpion

I have no idea if I have posted this scorpion before. This is a Reaper bones scorpion that I must have painted two years ago or more.

It's pretty cool looking and was very interesting to paint all of those legs and weird spikes all over it. I added some embellishments to the base like a custom-made skull and bones which was fun.

For some reason I wanted the Stinger to be green I think to denote poison. Anyways, the miniature just sits in a bones bin collecting dust and I thought people would like to see it.

Reaper Metal Damian Hellthorne

This is a metal Reaper miniature, Damian Hellthorne. Damian was painted in early 2021 with a limited palette....the highlight
s could be more pronounced, but he will work for gaming!

Reaper Bones Sigurd

I painted this Reaper Bones mini earlier in 2021 using a limited palette. This is Sigurd, human fighter. I think he is really a Viking warrior. He reminds me a lot of the red headed barbarian from Game of Thrones Tormund Giantsbane.

Reaper Bones Barrow Rat

I have a few minis that I have finished since 2017, the last time I posted here. I'm going to get caught up slowly on this over the next few weeks. Hopefully these updates will inspire others to pick those paintbrushes up again...

This first mini has just been completed .. a Barrow rat from Reaper Bones (1 of 2). The sculpt is OK...not great as it has a lot of broken detail.

I went for a diseased, toxic look on this guy that says "stay the hell away".

Otherworld Miniatures Human Male Cleric

I've finally completed my set of 4 Otherworld male, human adventurers.  It has taken a few years for some reason.  The last piece of this puzzle was the cleric, who I call Brother Pugnacious. He's a tough guy who likes to keep a full flask of brandy at all times.

Once again, the hardest part for me was to decide what color his clothes should be.  I did not want to do khaki/beige colored robes because they have been done by so many others out there;  I decided on this gray/blue color.

A lot of subtle details are lost by the camera phone, like his light five oclock shadow and some of the hair highlights.  The blanket straps are a different color than the blanket.

My favorite part of this mini is most likely the backpack!

Check out this group photo of all of the adventurers...very old school!!

A Quick Paint Job: Reaper Mouse Princess

A Quick Paint Job: Reaper Mouse Princess

Here is a quick update:

My daughter asked me to paint this mouse ling princess last month. I told her I would if she drew the mouse and colored it in with colors of her choice.  When she did that, I knew this was serious and was ready to knock this job out quickly.  I think this mouse took me 3 or so hours, which is really fast for an old fart like myself.

Here is the back of the mouse ling.  I hate you camera phone....
